According to that insurance a player getting injured during net practice or during the match of his national team he becomes eligible to claim insurance for the money he is going to loss due to this injury. Now archer got injured during national team preparation so now he is eligible to claim the insurance for that he needs a contract. The reason why he gave assurity that he will play at all instance from next year is to give a confidence to franchises. And he entered the auction after a franchise asked him to enter auction and wrote to both bcci and ecb and not so surprisingly it is mumbai Indians who undertook the process and eventually got him.

lot of people have a question if he entered next year he would be earning even more but this is the most beneficial one for him because he is now going to get 8cr without playing. And next year he will be earning another 8 cr which makes it 16 cr even if he entered auction next year he is not going to get that huge amount easily.
